WH40K ULTRAMARINES movie trailer

The first 'proper' trailer for the Warhammer 40,000 CGI movie Ultramarines has been released.

Hopefully this is early test footage because the CGI is seriously below-par for the expectations of a modern audience. In fact, the CGI is considerably less impressive than the CGI mini-movie which opened Dawn of War, and that is now more than six years old (not to mention Dawn of War II's from last year). The voice acting from John Hurt and Donald Sumpter sounds fine, but the visuals definitely need a polish.

The movie will be released on DVD, apparently before the end of this year.

Meh. Looked ok. I just wish they'd chosen something more interesting than the Ultrasmurfs.

Can't a man get a little Horus Heresy? That would have been exciting no matter how poor the cgi was.

While John Hurt was talking I didn't even care about what the CGI may look like... But yes, the end portion of the trailer did look rather... silly. Which is unfortunate...

Seen worse examples of CGI, but I've also seen better. However, I think Ultramarines still looks like it could be at least watchable.

Must admit I'd completely forgotten about it, so thanks for the reminder!
